The Dada exhibition at the MoMa is eerily timely.

Dada was the explosive, artfully inarticulate rejection of a false consensus in politics, society, and art — a consensus that was supporting a barbaric war (read All Quiet on the Western Front if you need a refresher) and, after 1918, an increasingly stifling intellectual and political climate that, by eliminating individualism, gave rise to the totalitarian nightmares of the 1930s and 1940s.
